The 'night breeze' and 'next morning' things are partially errors on the mod's part, which I apologize for. New game jitters and all, but all player characters have a vague (or astute) innate sense of the passage of time.
There is money, and they're given some upon arrival, enough to find a place and stock it up with groceries and the like. Employment can be basically anything; mundane jobs like a firefighter, a meter maid, a detective, an accountant ... Or stranger, less common jobs like mercenary, crime boss (or any rank in a crime syndicate), lore hunter. You can pick what'll fit your character best.
